Begin by opening the Start Menu and type msconfig into the Search or Run box. Press the Enter key.
When the System Configuration utilty opens, select the Boot tab and place a check mark beside Safe boot. Leave the radio button on Minimal unless you have a specific reason to change it.
When you click on the OK button, you'll be prompted to restart. Your next boot will now take you to Safe Mode automatically.
When you have finished using Safe Mode and wish to return to normal boot, just use the System Configuration utility again.
